how amazing is this townhouse?

I keep catching myself going back and looking at the pictures of Trey and Jenny Laird's Manhattan brownstone, making mental notes of "oh, I am so copying this...I am so copying that."

Therefore, I felt the obligation to share some pictures with those of you who haven't seen it yet.

Hold on to your socks though, Jeffrey Bilhuber knocked it out of the park.
The entrance hall is graced with Gracie wallpaper (totally on purpose) and leopard rug.

Ugh, I die.
I love the mix of colors and all of the different layers of fabric.
And I always support the use of one of my most favoritest fabrics, the tiger-stripe velvet from Brunschwig & Fils.
I absolutely adore this breakfast nook.
From the Andy Warhol print of Jackie O to the check wallpaper and curtains, everything is so quirky and works perfectly together.
Ok, I actually hate the barstools, but I adore the floors in this kitchen.
The library really gets me.
I want to lick those dark, high gloss walls and then take a nap ride on that tiger-stripe chair and ottoman.
Yum.
Pretty outdoor space with mirror-backed trelliswork.
Very pure and calm master bedroom, and you know I'm a sucker for canopies.

Dressing room with plaster chandie and printed linen wall covering.

Their teenager daughter's room is one of my favorites.
I love the chartreuse walls and curtains with pom-pom trim.

For their son's room, I am so diggin' the preppy masculine feel.
It definitely screams "boy" without any eyeball murderous sports theme.

Couldn't you just move right in?
I love how the color was not afraid of color or texture. It really lets their personalities shine through and that's the ultimate goal, isn't it?

What do you think of it?
Discuss.

Things I Like...

Let's get back to some home junk, shall we?

Here are some things that are out of this world...
That 1940's Fontana Arte chandy is ridiculous. I can't seem to get it out of my head.

Dark and handsome. Just how I like my men den?

That wallpaper. I would plaster that bright granny junk all ova my house if Tony would let me.
But he's lame-o, so I'm sure he will limit it to one room. Boo.

Leopard sofa and perfectly imperfect hangings of gold-framed art? Yes please.
And. that. reindeer.
Gimme one of those.
He looks so cute like that in the corner, having a holly jolly Christmas.

I'm Back...

...and about 10 pounds heavier than I was 2 weeks ago.
So I'm pretty slow moving.
Which is great for my j-o-b.
Here are some things that are much more awesome than I am today. Brought to you by the latest Lonny.

This room is everything. Pillows and side table just to start off with...

Deep turquoise walls and that rug. That rug.
I would move into this bedroom tomorrow.
Always a sucker for zebra print, mirrored furniture and Leontine.
Nail head details on those chairs. Shut up right now.

But, that's pretty much the only nice things I have to say about this issue. Oh, and any feature on Jonathan Adler makes me smile, but overall, blah.

Stripe Hype

I keep a folder on my desktop where I save home related junk and I've recently been trying to ease Tony into my design aesthetic by showing him some pictures from time to time.
Because let's face it, if it were up to him, our house would look like a Restoration Hardware catalog.
Not that that's a bad thing, but floor to ceiling beige/cream in every room would drive me insane.

Yesterday I showed hims this bathroom. Which is one of my favoritest ever ever bathrooms.
To my surprise, he liked it.
Progress.

And then I realized how many rooms I have saved that are full of stripes. It makes me think that I am going to need a lot of restraint to limit my stripes to one, err, two rooms.
 More stripe bathroom goodness.

I mean, am I just destined to live in a glorified circus tent?

How do you feel about stripes in the home?
Love it or leave it?

Canopy Love

Tony and I have been trying to figure out what to do with this bed we inherited when he moved out of his parent's house.
That's pretty much what our bed looks like.
Turns out I didn't take a picture of the bed as a whole. Oops.
 So that's the headboard...
...and the foot board.

To say that it's not quite our taste is an understatement. But it's been in his family for a good amount of time, so I wanted to give it a face lift instead of just tossing it. Plus, my manfriend is a closet sentimentalist, so I know he wants to keep it too.

Here's what I've been thinking about...

Angie Hranowsky
Vogue
Windsor Smith, as seen in House Beautiful
Apple Martin's bedroom
Obviously in different fabrics and whatnot, but you get the idea.
When I presented this to Tony, he reminded me that we are most likely moving in a few months and I should put this project off until then. Fair enough.

In the meantime, we agreed that this may be the best option.

'Member when we talked about this bedroom a while back?

Pretty similar to this bed too.

So I think I may just paint the bed a fun little number and then add the simple, curtain like fabric.
Consider it a half project.

I like both of these Benjamin Moore colors to make the bed ever so happy and cheery.
Cool Aqua

Utah Sky
What do ya think? Oh, and if it helps, the bedding is a gold damask pattern (the same bedding that Bethenny Frankel has, naturally, and for the love of Bravo TV, I couldn't find a picture of her freakin' bed), and the bedroom has a zebra print rug and a cream couch with Missoni throw blanket and pillows.

Me thinks it will look just fab.

Thoughts?
