I peaced out of the country

and went down to Mexico.

Hush, I deserve it.

Can I just tell you how blissful it's going to be to lay on the beach all day and get drunkity drunk off margs?

I'm taking a break from gettin' my tan on to check in with you guys. And it's pretty difficult considering everything is in Spanish.
Taking French and Italian is really paying off.

When I get back to the states I will share some pictures and that will motivate me to even take pictures, which everyone knows I am terrible at doing.

And I'm Moving...

...to Colorado! Yay people!

The manfriend and I are super excited for this new chapter in our lives.

I have frolicked all over that great state, but Tony has never been.

He. will. fall. in. luff.

It will be amazeballs. I can ski après-ski, shop-sorry small town NC, you just don't do it for me (on purpose), hang with my family, and cause general ruckus with Whitney, my special blogland friend.

Yes, I'm still alive

Oh Lordy, have the past two weeks been cray-zay.

And in just a few days, I'll have so much more to share!

I'm not being secretive, I just don't even know myself. 

For those who have just tuned in, my life will be taking a huge turn very soon because I will be moving. 

And I have no idea where to yet. For real.

These are my top two destinations...

Colorado Springs, Colorado. Purrdy, no?

I make a darn cute snow bunny if I do say so myself. And husband likes the cold and snow. 

Plus, I have a multitude of fabulous family members in Denver that would make this option a party in the USA.

Stuttgart, Germany. Woah, yeah. Germany.

I had to show a picture with words in it just to remind myself that I could be moving to a place where they do not speak English.

That could get interesting.

Before you go and get super duper jealous of me, keep in mind that I haven't divulged the entire list of possibilities. Because the rest of them pretty much suck. So here's to hoping!

I mean, right?

The world's most perfect pink maxi skirt is from Anthropologie, and is of course, sold out.

Tears.

But then, like a fashion angel, Mackenzie from Design Darling found a look-alike from Old Navy, for a lot less monies. Which I like.

But NOW, I'm all like, hello hot pink trousers.

You shall be mine.

Exceeeeept...

As much as I love Dsquared2, Mama is poor right now and needs a more budget friendly option.

That's where you come into play!

Please be my pink pant angel and find me some cheapa ones.

how amazing is this townhouse?

I keep catching myself going back and looking at the pictures of Trey and Jenny Laird's Manhattan brownstone, making mental notes of "oh, I am so copying this...I am so copying that."

Therefore, I felt the obligation to share some pictures with those of you who haven't seen it yet.

Hold on to your socks though, Jeffrey Bilhuber knocked it out of the park.

The entrance hall is graced with Gracie wallpaper (totally on purpose) and leopard rug.

Ugh, I die.

I love the mix of colors and all of the different layers of fabric.

And I always support the use of one of my most favoritest fabrics, the tiger-stripe velvet from Brunschwig & Fils.

I absolutely adore this breakfast nook.

From the Andy Warhol print of Jackie O to the check wallpaper and curtains, everything is so quirky and works perfectly together.

Ok, I actually hate the barstools, but I adore the floors in this kitchen.

The library really gets me.

I want to lick those dark, high gloss walls and then take a nap ride on that tiger-stripe chair and ottoman.

Yum.

Pretty outdoor space with mirror-backed trelliswork.

Very pure and calm master bedroom, and you know I'm a sucker for canopies.

Dressing room with plaster chandie and printed linen wall covering.

Their teenager daughter's room is one of my favorites.

I love the chartreuse walls and curtains with pom-pom trim.

For their son's room, I am so diggin' the preppy masculine feel.

It definitely screams "boy" without any eyeball murderous sports theme.

Couldn't you just move right in?

I love how the color was not afraid of color or texture. It really lets their personalities shine through and that's the ultimate goal, isn't it?

Gaston!

I could not think of a better way to spend my day off than going to see Beauty and the Beast. 

In 3D, obviamente.

As a little child nugget, I would watch Beauty and the Beast on repeat and sing all of the songs until my momma's ears bled.

The character I am most excited to see in 3D amazingness is the most underrated character of all, Gaston.

I mean, look at that handsome hunk!

Big muscles, great singing voice, and a butt-chin? Me-ow.

And yes, I am dragging my husband to the movie as well.

He is secretly excited. Even little boys loved Disney movies.

I'm ready for my popcorn, licorice, and ICEE tummy ache!

Show Me Your Love

If you read Peppermint Bliss-and why wouldn't you?-you now know that Bailey has up'ed her cool factor because she went to boarding school with Lana Del Rey (I know, major jealous!).

In order to up my own cool factor, I'd like you to fall in love with an amazingly talented singer who I went to high school with.

Hottie boom bottie, right??

Ariana Savalas, daughter of legendary actor Telly Savalas, had me falling in love with her back when we attended our all-girls high school together. 

It was then that she recorded "Show Me Your Love" and unlike Christina Aguilera's classmates, we loved it and made her sing it whenever we had the chance.

There was no walking off the dance floor with this one.

Haters gonna hate.

Well, she just released her first single "Perfect Man" and her music video stars none other than McSteamy. Shirtless. A lot.

 Chick has skills.

My advice for Ariana?

1. I highly recommend re-releasing a little "Show Me Your Love" remix. The world is ready for some more bubble gum pop.

2. Next time, put it in Eric Dane's contract that making out is required.

3. Keep kickin' ass, girl!

perhaps because all I seem to be doing is shopping for clothes.

vacation all I ever wanted

I don't know if I told you guys this, but I am taking a trip to Mexico at the end of February.
Insert happy "yay's" and terrified "I need to lose 8 el bee's" here.
Either way, I am on a wonderful mission to find the perfect beach outfits, bikinis, and cover-ups.

Ever since I saw the movie Something Borrowed (don't worry, I got it on Redbox and therefore only wasted a dollar and an hour and a half of my life on it) I have been obsessed with the white crochet shorts Kate Hudson wears.

Adorbs, right?

Well, the shorts are made by Letarte, a Maui-based label created by two sisters.
They have amazing pieces for all of your beach vay-cay activities.
Here are some of my favorites.

Never blog on an iPad. I am 2 autocorrects away from screaming in the middle of this teeny tiny airport. So I apologize in advance for how this post may turn out, but I didn't want to leave all you lovelies hanging for so long. Lord knows when I am reunited with my homeland, my blogging is sure to decrease.

But because I have no idea how to work this thing when it comes to Blogger, I only have access to the few pictures I have saved on the iPad. Luckily, this little gem is one of them.

Just kidding, I can't figure it out. And I thought watching all those episodes of The Big Bang Theory were making me smarter. In any event, the room I wanted to share with you is not new, but I'm still so in love with it. It's the living room of Milly's Michelle Smith, ya know, the one with the huge nun painting by Tony Scherman? Maybe I'll post the picture tonight when I get to my mommala's house. Hello Lovelies!

I wanted to check in with you guys and let you know that I am currently a sick little monkey.

This will either result in many a blog posts this week, or very few. I am sort of leaning towards the latter as my efforts will be focused on a very speedy recovery as I am set to fly to Minne-notsomuchrightnow-snowta on Friday. 

But we'll see...crazier things have happened.

Here's to hoping that copious amounts of Dawson's Creek and Gossip Girl is enough to kick this sickness's ass because for the love of Britney Spears (congrats girlfriend!), I refuse to be sick on Christmas.

Furbish.

Ok, so I told you guys last week that I ventured to Furbish.

So ya know those times where you hype something up so much and you dream about how awesome it's going to be and then when you actually experience it, it's a huge let down?

This is not one of those times.

The first part is totally true; I drooled over pictures, imagined items in my house-to-be, and became overly infatuated with a pair of dalmatian chairs.

I took a little road trip to Furbish and this is what I found...

 

 I was initially greeted by a lovely hot pink door.

This is going to be good.

 When you first walk in, it's a little bit of sensory overload. In a great way.

Amazing foxglove wallpaper. Swoon.

Don't you just love that painting by Jenny of MFAMB?

Look at that bed in all of its splendor.

And yes, those are my chairs. MINE.

The jewelry is all lovely. I especially liked those coral necklaces on the left.

But that's the necklace I snagged. I'll show it to ya in a hot second.
