Is It Winter Yet?

You'll never, ever, hear me say that again. I love spring. I love summer. I love apple picking and sweaters in fall.

But winter?
Not so much.

We had a falling out a few years ago when I realized that -40 degrees was not a temperature I ever needed to experience.
Thanks Minnesota.

And now that I live in the south, I have grown accustomed to not needing a down parka and all the other non-attractive, but pro-chilly-temps, fashion items. I won't lie-I love tights, boots, and sweater dresses, but I can do all of that in the fall.

But then I saw this.
Um, cute.

And these.

They make me want to go to NYC and hail a cab.

I need this set.
And for the princess in all of us.
These two sets of mittens are perfect for those chilly outdoor sporting events.
Ya know, when you need to say something to your buddies but it's too loud or you're too far away?
Either way, they are bomb.
Don't we all?

In case you forget which one's which.

My fav of the group...
Haha. I love it.

All of these lovelies are from the amazing Kate Spade. I'll be needing a few of these to make the coming winter a little more burrable.

Fashion Wish-List

I think this Alice + Olivia tutu chunky-knit sweater is too cute for words.

I luff it.

It's girly and playful. Much like myself, right?

Oh La La.

You can buy this little guy here.

And while you're at it, go ahead and pick me up one. Please and thank you.

Home-run

Is everyone ready for some awesome living rooms? I think Lonny totally knocked it out of the park in terms of living rooms this issue. Some were classic and creamy, while others were bold and beautiful.

The living room that graced the cover.
I love the bubble gum pink couch paired with the printed black pillows.
Delish.

For a little more rawriness in your life, I love this eclectic living room with red lacquered walls.
(Yes, I know, it looks orange in the pictures)

And that couch is just begging to be sat on.

I'm also very fond of the side chairs in the forefront of the picture-they're doing the same bubble gum pink and printed black as the couch in the last living room.
Obsessed with the pedestal ashtray. Not for real smokes. Just for real looks.
The combination of modern and antique is pure brills.
I think the antique chairs work really well with the lucite side table and coffee table.
The lady of the house wanted to remove the original fireplace mantel, but the hubs said no way.
I'm glad she listened!

And now, my most favoritest.
Taa-daaaa!

I could go on and on about this one.
Green velvet couch. Animal print pillows. Bright blue carpet. THAT WALLPAPER. That lovely peacock I spy in the back.
It all works.
Oh, times that couch by two. Wonderful.

Total home-run for Lonny...but now I'm itching for the next issue to come out!
Patience is a virtue.
Me lacks it a bit.

Happy Monday!

Did you think I wouldn't blog about the latest Lonny? I know, I know, I've been so lazy lately.

Honestly, so much has been going on, but I would never dream of leaving Lonny in the dust. I not so patiently waited for the September/October 2011 issue and when it finally came, it killed. Pure awesomeness. Don't believe me? Jenny from MFAMB called it a "face melter." And she's a gazillion percent right.

We'll take it a little slow for the newbies and I'll share with you my top two bedrooms from the issue.

First.
Like, duh.
You had me at pink walls, Coco House and Company headboard, and monogrammed pillows.

This bedroom is classically girly and I dig it.

My favorite part of the bedroom, though, is this.
The teal Sada Atelier chest and the lucite chair. Love and love.

A tad too girly for you? Well, my second bedroom that made me swoon is much more masculine.
The Leontine Linens and light fixture are enough for me.
I also love the black baseboards next to the minty green walls.
Perfection.

Have you drooled over the new Lonny yet?

Bookmark your faves, we'll be talking about the living rooms tomorrow!

I Survived...

...Missoni for Target Madness of 2011. Not only did I survive, but I'd say I prospered. My husband would probably say that I'm lucky to still be married.

With thorough planning and multiple alarms (yeah, he loved that), I made out like Beyonce at the 2010 Grammy Awards. There were a few items that I didn't even try to get (ugs) and a few that I have sleepless nights over not getting. Anyone with the espresso set, I will gladly take it!

All in all, shopping the 11 piece collection at 3:00 am, the full collection at 7:00 am (before the site crashed!), and then again at my local store at 3:00 pm worked out awesomely. I got Christmas presents galore and now my spare bedroom is full of my offerings to the Missoni Gods.
My house kinda looks like this now.

Did any of you brave the crowds during Missoni for Target Madness 2011? Kyle from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills told me that the cops were at her Target breaking up fights. I would have loved to see that. Oh, and by told me, I mean she tweeted it...I wish we were friends.

Hope you're having a great zig-zag filled Sunday watching football...I know I am!!

In Case You Forgot...

...how much you hated Brad Pitt after he left Jen for Jolie, he decided to do an interview to remind you.

I have nothing nice to say today. I read this article much too early this morning and it put a damper on my day. Off to my personal trainer to regain some rainbows and butterflies. Tootles.

Wedding Wear

So the Mr. and I are going to the wedding of his lovely friends Joe and Alli in just a few weeks.

Why is this newsworthy you ask?

Well, above all, I cannot wait to celebrate with these two awesome people, but the big, big deal is that we just decided we could make it...and by just I mean the plane tickets were purchased 2.7 minutes ago.
Now I am in a dilemma because I only have a few days to find a fabulous dress and get Mr. Wonderful all cleaned up as well.

Oh, and did I mention that I live in the land of horrible shopping?? I didn't? Must have slipped my mind. I'm thinking about rollin' the dice and waiting until the day before the wedding to find something in my house of worship.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

That method has never failed me.

But until then I'm feeling quite content perusing the likes of shopbop and net-a-porter for some inspiration. Today I tackled shopbop and found a few good options.

 Too cute?
Too bright?
Too glittery for a wedding?

Too funeral-ish?

Hmph. Well as you can see, I am nowhere near closer to finding a dress. But I have extreme faith in my shopping abilities. What are your thoughts on these? Any dresses that you're dying to wear to a wedding?

Deep Fried Twinkie Withdrawls

Now that Labor Day weekend has come and gone, my body is starting to feel the effects. Of not going to the Minnesota State Fair. Of not eating copious amounts of deep fried foods on a stick. A word of advice, you might want to check yo judgments at the door, people. It will just be much easier that way.

The Great Minnesota Get-Together holds a very special place in my clogged artery heart. I love it. No, I live for it. No matter where I am living, I make my journey during Labor Day weekend to feed my obsession. And my belly.

There was, however, the awful year of 2005 when I was just a wee little freshman in college and was unable to attend. Don't worry, my momma overnight mailed me some food. Seriously. That's dedication.

Then came this year. Mr. Wonderful and I had already made our plans to travel to my grandparent's lake house in Vermont, but then that fell through. And we were okay with that because then we could voyage to Minnesota for the State Fair.

Long story short, Vermont became back on and we missed the fair.
 Boo.

My sister and my niece pettin' cows. 2010.

The fattest pig in 2010. I love pigs and I love fats.

Husband and me at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010.

You might be thinking to yourself, "Meg, why is this such a big deal?"
I get it. It's a strange love.

While I love the awesome people watching (aka mullet hunting), the great music, and cuddly animals, it's the food. The greasy, fattening, roll me to the car food. And while I have a list a mile long of the food I must eat every year, the coveted #1 spot belongs to the deep fried twinkie.
If you've had one, you know what I'm talking about.
If you haven't, shame on you.

Even if you don't like twinkies, you will love this thing more than an 80's movie montage.
Don't believe me? I gladly invite you to join me next year at the Minnesota State Fair.
Come with me and my fams, we're nice.
First twink is on me.

Today is a Very Special Day

It's Chloe's 1st birthday!! We returned from Vermont last night and were able to celebrate at home with lots of treats for our big girl. I found a few old pictures of our pup of when we first got her.
Too cute.

And she had big, blue eyes.

Our tiny little rat curled up with Carolena May.

And now she is much, much bigger and can no longer fit into our laps like she used to.
Here's no many more puppy birthdays! Do you celebrate your pets' birthdays??
